St. Vincent School uses a process of discernment to fill open School Board positions. Discernment is not an election, but rather a decision process that uses both prayer and dialogue. It requires that each person interested in becoming a School Board member reflect on his or her own talents, time, and energy. The discernment session usually occurs in May and new members are seated at our meeting in June.
Your application will be sent, via this form, to the Discernment Committee Chairperson (School Board Vice President). All applications for the 2024/2025 school year are due by April 10th, 2024. The Discernment meeting will be held on April 25th at 5:30PM.
The St. Vincent's School Board, following Diocesan policy for all school boards, is an advisory board to the pastor in particular and school principal as the pastor's designee. For any changes, improvements, or recommendations for school life disucssed by the school board, the pastor or school principal as his designee determines whether and when/how to implement any such proposals. As an advisory board, the School Board has a repsonsibilty for the long term vision and advancement of the school, especially as strucutred by our strategic plan.
